About

I was born in Budapest in 1978 and from my early childhood I wanted to be a children’s book illustrator.

First I studied Italian language and literature at ELTE in Budapest, then I received a degree in visual communication at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, during which I figured out again that I wanted to do illustration.

I illustrated my first book in 2012.  I have drawn over 20 titles by now, my books have been translated in several languages.

I also won awards, among which the Compostela Prize in 2019, the Chen Bochui Original Illustration Award’s second prize in 2020. My latest silent book project has been selected among the finalists in the Silent Book Contest in 2020.

My artwork participated in many exhibitions: the 2017 Biennal of Illustrations Bratislava, The Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrator’s Exhibition in 2017, The Silent Book Contest Finalist Exhibition in 2019, Bologna. The CCBF Chen Bochui Original Illustration Exhibition in Shanghai in 2020.

I live in Budapest with my husband, my four children, a cat, a dog and a parrot. I’m hoping to live a long life so that I can make many more books, because my head is always full of new ideas.
